Within days of the withdrawal from Afghanistan we see new alliances formed as old alliances break,founder and drift.
A new world is forming . With china and Russia growing stronger by the day. It would appear the old western alliance is being reformed and renewed.
Albeit slightly differently, less two historic partners.
A little bit later than required . But better late than never.
The New Alliance First tier, America, Britain and Australia.
Second tier, i guess New Zealand and Canada are still part of the five eyes. Definitely not part of the core alliance.
Is this a good move . Well NZ did ban all things Nuclear. In their naive belief that anything nuclear was verboten.
Well you cant be included in a military alliance. If ships, even if not armed with nukes wish to use your ports. These vessels may be heavily powered by Nuclear fission reactors, especially the subs. With that mentality who would risk being in an armed alliance with NZ. There was no practical way NZ would ever be an active member of that alliance. Will The chinese or Russians respect New Zealands no nuke policy.
Lets just hope that someone with heavily vested interest in the pacific islands doesn’t just decide on owning some larger relatively undefended islands to add to their hegemony.
Per capita, New Zealand is pretty polluted. One Nuclear power station in The country would make enough power for all. With a fraction of the pollution of all the other methods of power generation available. Nuclear energy is clean and green. The safety issue is with people and procedures.
Anyways this is a moot point as the new core alliance is formed and Australia will be building nuclear subs locally.
Will the new alliance project its presence heavily through pacific waters . Will Taiwan and Japan be openly protected against Chinese passive aggression. Will Military brinkmanship push someone to make an error . Or is this a statement that you had better get out of our back yard ASAP…..
