These same people who are letting inbound travelers into the country.
How can the NZ government justify inbound flights to the south island from Australia. While they still have thousands per day of Covid cases in Aus. Isn’t that where the current Covid outbreak originated from, the previous travel bubble with NSW Australia.
Is it worth the risk to open up to thousands of travelers when we in Auckland haven’t finished with the previous and current Covid outbreak. Time to jail our bureaucrat’s
for gross negligence putting the country in jeopardy.

Christmas is coming and the geese aren’t getting fat in fact we tighten our belts more as each week of lockdown continues. Tourism is a fraction of our economy but a part of the larger economy. This government are sacrificing all for the sake of a few. All the experts told us it was safe before, but we let them and an unwanted guest in. Not once but several times. So the entry criteria are double vaccination and a negative test 72 hours prior with no quarantine at their end. I don’t think much of our procedure’s, which have been lacking all the way through.
If the world had locked down for two months over a year ago this would be over. When will people realize Planes are petri dishes . Sealed indoors, in a closed environment. No matter how well the filters are maintained . A virus such as Covid with a DNA and RNa will find their way around it and our vaccinations. We place too much store in procedures and mitigation.
This virus has one motivation to live and survive . If that means killing a few millions or hundreds of millions remains to be seen.
With our extremely low death rate from Covid, due to our excellent health system. Which we are desperately trying to save and not overwhelm it with a general outbreak.
it is highly conceivable that we may give rise to the next variant, echo or foxtrot. The next variant may attempt to hide so its not detected, till the host is well infected. Any number of possibilities are their. It may well be just a huge amount of cases, culminating in death of the hosts so the survivor’s maker a more suitable host for the longevity of the virus over the longer term.
Sobering thoughts. so why risk the people and economy of NZ or whats left of it.
So few may infect the lives of so many. One can hurt the world ten can end it.
